More information 'would help people save money on energy bills'

Providing the right information on green energy and power consumption is one way to change attitudes and potentially save money on household bills.
According to Dick Strawbridge, presenter of It's Not Easy Being Green, details are the key as once people are aware of the good they could be doing for the environment they will not go back to old ways.
Some people may also be unaware of the efficiency gains they could make by going green, which are likely to result in reduced home energy bills.
"Saving energy is all about learning and having somebody guiding you. [At the moment] we are not getting leadership from energy companies," he states.
One way to increase awareness of savings is to install a smart meter, giving people a visual representation of the power they are wasting.
Eight-out-of-ten homeowners surveyed by Marketiers recently said they feel energy providers are ineffective at helping them lower their carbon footprint.
