Energy payment could be simplified with new bill

Business customers of British Gas might be interested in reports of a new billing system due to be used by the supplier.

It aims to simplify the payments process in response to feedback from consumers and various research carried out recently.

Stuart Hough, head of marketing and sales at the firm, said: "Customers have told us they want less clutter and industry jargon, clearer instructions and an all-round easier-to-read design from their bill."

It is hoped the revised design meets these needs and helps businesses with managing their cash flow, British Gas added.

Aspects of the document include clear labelling of the invoice number and billing date, which the organisation notes will be useful for tax purposes.

As well as the various business customers, the supplier is also commonly used domestically.

Households might find they could reduce their bills through various energy saving methods, such as fully insulating their home.
