Economic situation 'means cautious investors'
Wednesday, May 12th 2010
Investors may be acting more cautiously due to fears over economic instability, an expert has claimed.
Senior investment advisor at Bestinvest Adrian Lowcock said the run up to the general election saw this caution exercised among many Britons.
And the situation in Greece is likely to further concerns over riskier actions when it comes to money, he continued.
On May 9th the Council of the European Union stated its member states had agreed on measured to aid the country and to maintain Europe's financial stability.
However, Mr Lowcock predicted that some people would be forced to take more risks with their money in order to get the income they need.
"While their attitude may be that they want to be cautious and they might be wary, they are being forced to make investments to make an income where they wouldn't have been in the past," he predicted.
Cautious investors could take some time to return to their normal habits, although the economic situation does seem to be altering at a rapid pace, Mr Lowcock noted.
